Who do you know that has crazy big dreams?
I know I was always the biggest dreamer out. I have copped a fair bit of flack for it over the years.
But you know what? I've actually achieved a lot in my short life (really, truly living since 2010)...
Many people are amazed at what I've done, and I don't even think much of what I've achieved is really that difficult. I've still got many of my BIG DREAMS on my up and coming list.
What is it that holds us back from really embracing our crazy big dreams?
It's that simple. Whether it's fear of being judged, fear of failure, fear of success, the reason we don't go and embrace those crazy big dreams is because we are AFRAID of something.
Recently, I felt a bit stuck in a rut, so I decided to commit to completely redesigning my lifestyle, retracing my steps through mindset work that I’ve applied over and over again in many different areas of my life.
After heading off in pursuit of my big dreams, once again, I studied A Course in Miracles, I read books on Buddhism, I read the Bible. I picked up Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich for the third time in my life. And I worked through Bob Proctor’s Paradigm Shift series.
1. We need to know who we are, we need to understand our true identity and what brings us to life. We need to accept our true self, we are love. We need to love ourselves as we truly are!
2. We need to find the courage to ask for our biggest dreams.
“You can have whatever you have the courage to ask for.“ - Oprah Winfrey
Often, the idea is so crazy, that it is easier just to keep the idea quiet. But think of Elon Musk, someone I adore, he put everything he had into his companies, SpaceX, Tesla and his solar batteries!! People thought he was crazy too. But without the courage to ask for the big dream, it would simply remain an idea in the mind of a genius.
3. We need to let go of our worry about what other people might think.
If you work on your self-acceptance and self-love, then hopefully this won't be too much of an issue. Remind yourself, "It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of you. What matters, is what you think about you." - From my book, Start with I. Then GO GET YOUR CRAZY BIG DREAMS. People might think you're crazy, some days I think I'm crazy, but it's ok. You're not crazy. You are brave.
4. Be brave.
“If your goal doesn’t scare and excite you at the same time, it’s probably not a good goal." - Bob Proctor
Nothing amazing ever comes from mediocre. You have to be bold and exciting with your dreams or you'll forever have this nagging feeling of 'what if' lurking in the background of your mind.
5. Affirm with emotion, repeat often, and take action!
If you know yourself, love yourself, ask for your dreams, be brave and courageous with your dreams and let go of concern about what other people might think, then you are most of the way there.
All you need to do now is write out what you want, every day. Repeat often. Make sure you have lots of emotion behind your affirmations, every day. Then start making a plan and take action. Your dreams will become your reality faster than you think possible!
