Get Hungry, Stay Hungry

Are you hungry enough to reach your goals? Are you obsessed with them enough to keep you awake at night with excitement or get up early to start working?

Whether you are planning a new business or getting ready to travel the world, it’s the most amazing feeling to have something big to work towards. It’s easy to say, “I’m going to achieve my goals!” The challenging part is committing to it, sticking to your goals, and being consistently “hungry” for it.

Starting with your journey is always wonderful; it gives you that sudden burst of energy that inspires you to take the initial steps towards your goal. But along the way the excitement fizzles out. Many businesses that have been successful for some time become too consumed with management problems that they lose their drive and hunger. They become too complacent, they lose that vibrant spirit that pushed them to the top in the first place.

Don’t let this hunger die. Once you set your goals, you have to see it through the end. But this requires more than just the initial excitement or adrenaline rush. You need to have that strong desire, the obsession with achieving your goals and making it your absolute focus. Whatever happens, you have to make things work. You have to be inspired and continually move toward your dream.

Find your purpose

One of the ways for you to be consistently hungry for your goals is to be connected with a purpose and be constantly reminded of that purpose—why you are doing it and why it’s important to you. Find some activities that will enrich your purpose and practice them every so often (if not everyday), like writing, reading, having meaningful conversations, taking pictures, anything that you feel emotionally connected to. This will help fuel the excitement so you are always eager to get some work done.

It’s a question of ‘when’

Once you have your “why” set, time to think of the “when”. When you set your vision, decide on that day that you will achieve it. You have to constantly tell yourself that it’s just a matter of time before your dreams turn into reality. This will make your vision more of a certainty rather than just a possibility.

Be with people who share the same vision

Being a solopreneur can be pretty lonely. Likewise, it’s challenging to get big things done when you’re on your own. You need the support of people who believe in what you believe in, people who can push you when you’re feeling weak, people who are fighting for the same cause. This community will not only fill the empty space; it will serve as your momentum and your support system.

When you’re deciding on whom to include in your inner vision circle, consider those who share the same values and are working on achieving the same goal, or those who have already accomplished what you are trying to do.

If you are looking for someone who can guide you through this exhilarating journey and help you keep that hunger for success alive, reach out to me and let’s make it work together.
