One of my biggest weaknesses, is the need for perfection. In working on this website, I completely underestimated the amount of time and effort that would be required! I’m glad to have it alive, but there are many many things I’d like to fine tune! Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve come to realise I have to just keep working on this colossal project and not worry too much about readers who might be critical… That’s probably my link to making things perfect, so no one can negatively critique my work. But it does hold me back a bit. By working on this website, I’m starting to let go of the need for perfection, and letting go my concern of other people’s opinions.
I hope perfection isn’t something that holds you back, but if it is, maybe think of ways you can start to execute your dreams in smaller steps to make it easier. My ultimate goal is to publish a best selling book. I guess this is a small step on that path (I’ve already written most of the book, but perfecting it has taken me a long time). I’m learning that perhaps I can just throw my book together any which way, but at least it will be getting out there instead of sitting under my bed!
I’m guessing there there are many of us that suffer from the quest for perfection. But we need to remember that everything is perfect at the same time that nothing is perfect. All in all, the perfection is inside the imperfection.
What are you waiting for? The day of perfection is here, so get your perfect work or dream alive.
